about

This album focuses on imitating some of my favourite genres and musicians. The Coil inspired 'Western Pigs In Shit' could easily sit on Coils own Music To Play In The Dark. Progsloth was recorded in one take and was inspired by my current listening of mid 70's musicians who recorded classical music using the moog synthesiser and that same sound that appears on Yes's Close To The Edge album. I purposely steered clear of Wendy Carlos because everyone is aware of 'him'. Beatpriest and Bloody Christ Atop That Hill hark back to the initial phase of IDM where the drums were so cheap, cheap sounding and certainly haven't stood the test of time. Lost Entity and Symbol are void of drums and attempt to use the animoogs ability to warp the lower end frequencies into a more metallic sound but still retaining that deeper groove. Finally weight has been wholly inspired by jazz violinist Leroy Jenkins, I recorded my violin seven times over each other for ten minutes to create an orchestral mess.
